Help Desk & Clinics

Marion County Master Gardeners provide free research-based gardening advice to home gardeners through our Office Help Desk and Community Plant Clinic programs.

If you have a home gardening question or problem, ask us! We use our experience, training, excellent library and online resources, to help you identify and solve issues with plants, plant diseases, weeds, good and bad insects, soil, lawn care, plant selection and more.

MCMGA Clinics are a great opportunity for you to bring a diseased plant or tree branch for diagnosis … or a bug for identification … etc. … and determine options available. We’ll do our best to answer your question immediately. However, sometimes we need to take more time to research your issue, or to consult with Brooke Edmonds, PhD., our Marion County Horticulturist or other OSU experts. We may also recommend another agency or organization for you to contact. Our goal is for you to have the best answer possible.

Stop by and say hello! Share your gardening questions and successes, and let us know how we
can help.

Community Plant Clinics – Salem Holiday Market 2021 (Friday)
Dec 10 @ 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm

MG volunteers staff the Community Plant Clinic table at the market to answer questions from the public, identify weed/plant issues including identification, and educate and inform the public about our numerous free services and workshops.  We will have an array of handouts/brochures and reference materials. You will be expected to replenish materials on the table from the supply tubs provided.

Designated parking for volunteers is the gravel parking lot directly across from the Jackman Long Building.  Please be respectful of Market Customers and do not park behind Columbia Hall or Jackman Long Bldgs.

Volunteers will need to pick up their entrance badges from the Community Plant Clinic Coordinators (Stacy Moranville and Terry Sawyer, cell phone 801-920-8018) at the Information Booth located at the south entrance in the Columbia Hall building.

The Salem Holiday Market is a great opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done (before or after your shift), while enjoying the festive holiday atmosphere.  Come out and support the many vendors selling handmade/hand-crafted/home grown items and enjoy the holiday festivities.
