In case you missed the weather forecast this evening, some areas are dropping into the 30s. This means you should be thinking about that first frost….. protecting tender plants and anything else your particular piece of paradise will need. A little planning and action now will save a frantic afternoon once frost appears in the forecast. And remember that frost dates can be exceedingly variable. They depend on air flow, protection from buildings, trees, etc, and frankly a whole wheelbarrowload of possibilities. In my back yard, 70 feet from north to south, frost dates can vary by as much as 2 weeks. Keeps me on my toes this time of year.
Let's Garden
Marion County Master Gardeners™ are trained certified volunteers who promote the joy and science of home gardening in our community. We answer questions, teach workshops, provide speakers, maintain a demonstration garden, and connect home gardeners to the information they need. The Master Gardener program is sponsored by OSU Extension.
